Breadtopia serves as an online forum where amateur bakers from around the country may share their favorite bread recipes, learn baking tips and tricks, write about their personal experiences with baking, and generally express their passion for bread. In business since 2006, Breadtopia was created by entrepreneurs and baking enthusiasts Eric and Denyce Rusch, who run the website from their hometown of Fairfield, Iowa. To fund the operating expenses associated with their free membership site, they sell a wide range of bread, pizza crust, and baking tools and ingredients through a secure e-commerce platform.
Breadtopia’s Eric and Denyce Rusch share a passion for baking that pre-dates their marriage of 18 years. Growing up in San Francisco, Eric learned how to bake mouthwatering sourdough French bread early in his life. Upon meeting Denyce, he discovered that she also held a deep interest in baking, and they were wed in 1994. Over their subsequent years together, Eric furthered his successful career as a website developer and Internet marketer, while Denyce operated the Busy Bee Bakery and worked as a graphic designer. In 2004, they pooled their abilities and founded Rusch Advertising Design. On top of taking on various freelance projects at Rusch Advertising Design, they created and grew their baking website and store, Breadtopia.com.
Today, Breadtopia operates as a one-stop shop for all things baking. The website features free video baking tutorials, recipes, a question-and-answer section, and industry news on bread baking. With nearly 2,000 members, Breadtopia brings together people with a love for the craft and desire to learn more. Furthermore, Breadtopia serves as an Authorized Bosch Universal Dealer and a provider of Emile Henry culinary products. Breadtopia is a member of The Bread Bakers Guild of America.
